This blog was created by Adam Rich and Scott Crockett for the purpose of recording our thoughts on the current state of the economy and the capital markets, and also possible investment strategies. Adam and I are both currently set to graduate in April 2010, and this blog is intended to aid us in our job search (and future job performance) by means of providing a medium through which we can articulate ourselves and develop a stronger understanding of investing and business strategy
As far job aspirations go, my number one choice currently is in the field of equity research (buy-side or sell-side). I spent some time interning with Pacific Crest in Portland, OR, and had a great experience. As a result, my posts will mostly focus on trading equities, specifically in the tech industry. To narrow it down even further, I hope to learn more about up-and-coming industries, such as, but not limited to, smartgrid, clean tech, and cloud computing. I'd like to focus on the fundamentals and long-term opportunities, but am not wholly opposed to the idea of using technical analysis to uncover possible "story-lines."
